What SahajBiz stores, where it lives, who can see it, and how to get rid of it.

Last updated 1 September 2026

Who this covers

SahajBiz is a business assistant for home makers, bakers, tiffin caterers, tailors and artisans in India. This policy covers two groups: the business owner who signs in and runs their ledger, and the customer who receives a bill link from that owner.

The owner decides what goes into SahajBiz. We hold it on their behalf.

What is stored

For an owner: business name, UPI ID, preferred language, orders, order items, customers and their phone numbers and addresses, products and their costs, expenses, stock, and a log of which WhatsApp messages were sent for which order.

For a customer: only what the owner wrote down about the order — usually a name, a phone number, a delivery address, the items and the amount.

No card numbers, bank details, UPI PINs or passwords are ever stored. SahajBiz never sees them.

Where it lives

Data is kept in the browser on the device being used, and synced to a Supabase database when signed in. Every table is protected by Row Level Security, so a signed-in account can read and write only its own rows.

The app works offline. Orders written without internet stay on the device until it reconnects.

Voice and AI

Speaking an order uses the browser's own speech recognition to turn audio into text. Audio is not recorded or uploaded by SahajBiz.

The resulting text is sent to an AI service to pull out the customer, items, quantities, delivery time and amount — Google's Gemini first, and Sarvam AI, which runs in India, if Gemini is unavailable. Only the sentence spoken is sent, never the ledger or the customer list. A device with no account signed in does not send it at all: a rule-based parser runs on the phone instead, and that is also what happens whenever the AI cannot be reached.

WhatsApp

Most messages are not sent by SahajBiz at all: the app prepares the text and opens WhatsApp, and the owner presses send from their own account.

A business that has connected the WhatsApp Business Platform can also receive orders as messages and have replies sent through Meta. In that case the message content and phone number pass through Meta under Meta's own privacy policy, and an incoming message becomes an order in that owner's ledger.

Payments

Bills carry a UPI QR code and a payment link built on the device from the owner's UPI ID and the amount due. Money moves directly from the customer's bank to the owner's, through their own UPI app.

SahajBiz is not a payment processor, takes no commission, and has no access to either party's bank account.

Bill links are public

A bill is shared as a link, and anyone holding that link can open it and see the order it describes — that is what makes it work in a WhatsApp chat without the customer signing in.

The link contains a long random token and is not listed anywhere, but it should be treated like the bill itself: shared with the customer, not published.

What we do not do

No advertising. No analytics or tracking scripts. No selling, renting or sharing of data with anyone. No profiling of customers across businesses.

The only third parties involved are the ones needed to run the app: Supabase for the database, Vercel for hosting, Google and Sarvam AI for optional AI parsing, and Meta if WhatsApp messaging is connected.

Getting your data out, and deleting it

Settings has a backup export that downloads everything — orders, customers, products, expenses — as a file you keep.

To delete your data, write from the email address on the account, using the Contact section at the end of this page, and ask for deletion. Everything belonging to that account is removed within 30 days, including orders, customers and message logs. Deleting the account deletes its rows; there is no archived copy.

A customer who wants their details removed should ask the business they ordered from, since the record belongs to that owner's ledger. Owners can delete a customer and their orders from the Customers tab at any time.

Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request to delete data, can be sent to the business that runs this SahajBiz deployment. If you reached this page from a bill, contact the business that sent you the bill.

Payments and billing

When paid plans arrive, payments are handled by Razorpay, a payment gateway regulated in India. Your card, UPI or bank details go to Razorpay directly and are never seen or stored by SahajBiz.

SahajBiz keeps only what it needs to run your plan: which plan you are on, its status and renewal date, and Razorpay's reference ids for your subscription. No payment instrument details are stored.
